Primary Care

Family Medicine

One provider who knows your whole history, for everyone in the house, for as long as you live here.

A family physician or nurse practitioner who has known you for years is worth more than most specialists, because they notice the thing that is different about you rather than the thing that is abnormal on a chart.

Our providers handle the full range: newborn and well child visits, immunizations, sports and school physicals, annual exams, Medicare wellness visits, and the ongoing management of diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid disease, COPD, and heart failure. They also do minor procedures in the office, including skin lesion removal, stitches, and joint injections.

A quieter part of the job is coordination. When you are seeing a cardiologist in Wichita and an orthopedist here, somebody has to be the one who sees the whole medication list and notices that two of them should not be taken together. That is your primary care provider, and it only works if you have one.

We hold appointment slots open every morning for people who woke up sick. Call at eight and we will usually see you that day. If we genuinely cannot, and it should not wait until tomorrow, the emergency department is four blocks north.

If you are new to town, establish with a provider before you need one. Doing it during a crisis is considerably worse.
