Privacy
How this site handles your information.
Demonstration Healthcare is a fictitious health system created by visuaFUSION Systems Solutions for demonstration purposes. This page illustrates the structure of a healthcare privacy notice. It does not govern any real data.
What this site collects
Two things, and they are separate. The site itself needs almost nothing. Analytics needs your permission, and does not run until it has it.
Without asking you
Your web server request, the same one every website receives, and nothing built on top of it. No advertising trackers, no social media pixels, and no fonts loaded from an outside service, so no request leaves this origin simply because you read a page.
If you choose a light or dark theme, that preference is stored in your own browser and never sent to us. The same goes for the cookie that remembers the choice you make about analytics: it exists so we stop asking.
Only if you allow it
We ask once, in a banner at the bottom of the page, and you can change the answer any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer. Turning analytics off later also deletes the cookies these tools set.
There are two of them, and you can allow one and refuse the other.
Google Analytics
Counts page views and tells us which pages people arrive on and where they leave. It does not record what you type. Google’s advertising features are switched off on this property, which means nothing here builds a remarketing audience or an interest profile.
Microsoft Clarity
Records how pages are used, including scrolling and clicking, so we can find the places where the site is confusing. Text typed into a form is masked before it leaves your browser.
Clarity does not run at all on the pages where you would enter something about yourself. The contact form, bill payment, and the patient portal are excluded outright, not merely masked.
Protected health information
No protected health information is collected through this public website. Anything involving your health record goes through the patient portal, which authenticates you first, and the analytics described above do not run on those pages or for anyone who is signed in.
This distinction matters more on a hospital website than elsewhere. Federal guidance on tracking technologies treats the public pages you can read without signing in differently from anything behind a login, and the arrangement above is built around that line rather than around what would be convenient to measure.
Do not send health information by regular email. It is not a secure channel.
Your rights
Under HIPAA you have the right to see and get a copy of your health record, to ask for corrections, to know who it has been disclosed to, to request restrictions on how it is used, and to be told if it is breached.
Separately, and regardless of any of that, you can decline analytics on this website and still use every part of it. Nothing is withheld, slowed down, or nagged about because you said no.
