Diagnostics

Diagnostic Imaging

X-ray at any hour, plus CT, ultrasound, heart imaging, mammography, and bone density. MRI visits on Tuesdays.

Imaging is often the difference between guessing and knowing, and most of it is available here.

On site and staffed around the clock: plain X-ray, for broken bones, chest films, and anything the emergency department needs at three in the morning. Also CT, on a 64 slice scanner, which covers head injuries, stroke evaluation, abdominal pain, and chest imaging.

On site by appointment during the week: ultrasound for abdominal, pregnancy, and blood vessel studies; echocardiography to look at how the heart is moving; digital mammography; and DEXA scanning for bone density.

Visiting: an MRI unit parks on the campus every Tuesday. Scheduling is handled through our imaging desk rather than an outside company.

Board certified radiologists read every study. Anything urgent is read while you wait. Routine studies are usually reported inside a day, and your provider’s office calls you rather than leaving you to find the result in the portal and worry about it alone.

One practical note about mammography. We run evening and Saturday appointments through October, and we take walk-ins that month, specifically because the most common reason women skip a screening is that the appointment sits in the middle of a working day.
