Dr. Prentice performs the scheduled general surgery and endoscopy done at the health center and provides surgical consultation to the emergency department.
His regular work includes hernia repair, gallbladder removal, appendectomy, skin and soft tissue procedures, screening and diagnostic colonoscopy, and upper endoscopy.
He has pushed hard on colorectal cancer screening rates in the county since arriving in 2016, on the straightforward logic that the procedure prevents a cancer that is otherwise often found too late, and that people are far more likely to go through with it when it is fifteen minutes from home rather than two hours.
He sees consultations on Mondays and Thursdays and operates Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
