Raymond Tolliver, MD
Emergency Medicine Physician
Not accepting new patients
Dr. Tolliver directs the emergency department and has worked rural emergency medicine for nineteen years, the last eleven of them here.
Rural emergency medicine is a distinct discipline. There is no specialist down the hall, the nearest trauma center is an hour out by ground, and the person who walks through the door at two in the morning might have a sprained wrist or might be in septic shock. Dr. Tolliver built the department’s triage and transfer protocols around that reality.
He leads the trauma and cardiac response training that all emergency staff complete annually, and teaches Advanced Trauma Life Support to first responders across three counties.
Emergency physicians do not carry a patient panel, so he is not listed as accepting new patients. You do not need to be his patient to be treated by him.
