Extended mammography hours through October
Evening and Saturday appointments all month, plus walk-ins, so a screening does not cost you a day of work.
Through the end of October our imaging department is running extended mammography hours: until 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Walk-ins are accepted throughout the month.
The reason for the extended hours is straightforward. The most common thing we hear from women who have put off a mammogram is not fear of the result. It is that the appointment is during working hours, and taking a half day off is not free.
Screening mammography is recommended annually starting at age 40 for women at average risk. It finds breast cancers at a stage where treatment is more effective and less aggressive. Most screening mammograms are covered in full by insurance with no copay.
If you are uninsured or underinsured, the Kansas Early Detection Works program may cover your screening entirely. Our financial counselor can tell you in a five minute phone call whether you qualify.
Call (620) 555-0142 to schedule, or walk in during the extended hours.
